Uses of Methyl Ethyl Ketone
Methyl ethyl ketone is an organic compound in colourless liquid form. It is commonly used as a solvent across many industries; in particular to weld together plastics such as gum or resin.
Common solutions that involve methyl ethyl ketone include:
- Household products such as lacquer and varnish
- Various types of glues
- Paint thinners/removers
- As “cement” mix in model kits
- As a precursor to MEK peroxide (in laboratory use).
