ReAgent is proud to be a Living Wage employer. Our staff are at the heart of everything we do, and we believe in doing the best we can for them. As an Investor in People, it’s important to us that we meet and exceed employment best practices, and that our staff feel fairly rewarded and happy to work at ReAgent.
What is the Living Wage?
The real Living Wage is the only wage rate that is proven to cover everyday needs, from grocery shopping to an emergency dentist appointment. It’s higher than the minimum wage and the national living wage that are set by the government. The rate is independently calculated based on what people need to live on and a new rate is released every year. Accredited companies must implement the new rate within a six-month timeframe.
Who gets the Living Wage?
At ReAgent, we pay the Living Wage to permanent, temporary, part-time, and contract staff.
Why pay the real Living Wage?
Paying the real Living Wage is completely voluntary. Employers like ReAgent choose to pay it because we believe that our employees deserve to earn enough to cover all the essentials of day-to-day life. It’s not only the right thing to do for our employees (as you can see from the video below), but we see it as an investment in our staff over the long-term. We also believe that good compensation at a good company will mean we provide a good customer experience, too.
What are Living Hours?
While the Living Wage ensures that people earn a wage they can live on, Living Hours ensures that people are working enough hours to make ends meet as well. At ReAgent, we follow the Living Wage Foundation standards of what good looks like, which includes a guaranteed minimum number of hours per week and robust notice periods.
What does being a Living Hours Employer mean?
Being a Living Hours employer means that we guarantee a minimum of 16 hours’ work a week (unless an employee requests otherwise), a contract that accurately reflects hours worked, and at least four weeks’ notice of shift changes.
